Machine Operator

Under the direction of the Lead, Supervisor or Manager is responsible for operating one or more production lines specific to the department assigned. Will be responsible to set up for production and ensure the products produced are within Mariani quality standards.

Operations

  • Sets up Assigned line for operation in allotted time.
  • Starts, stops, sets up, and cleans machinery according to operational requirements.
  • Performs daily line inspection and reports findings to Supervisor and Maintenance.
  • Follows up reports to ensure maintenance tasks are completed.
  • Oversees production run ensuring that specific customer specifications are meet.
       This includes fruit requirement
       Coding is properly located and in the proper format.
       Pallet tag and placard information matches product information.
  • Keeps supervisor informed of any issues with production run.
  • Keeps in contact with Maintenance crew of any repairs needing to be preformed.
  • Will learn to perform daily general maintenance of the equipment and surrounding equipment.
  • Track productivity of line including spillage, through put, yield and any other critical parameters.
  • Properly reports Downtime and materials used to Production Control.
  • Complete the Manufacturing Orders timely and accurately for the items produced.
  • Report productivity to supervisor on a regular basis.
  • May handle materials weighing up to 60 pounds occasionally.
  • Maintains correct product availability to line operations as directed.
  • May operate forklift on a limited basis and will not mishandle equipment in any manner.
  • Must ensure all Line staff is following proper production specifications.
  • Must be able to train as needed. This may mean travel to outside training sites.
  • Must be willing and able to train other operators on production.
  • Will follow all GMP’s daily.

Sanitation

  • Performs proper cleaning when changing product runs.
  • Keeps work area clean and orderly using common cleaning equipment.
  • Cleans up production area and elsewhere at end of shift as directed.

Safety

  • Responsible for ensuring safe working conditions and safe work practices in assigned area, this includes following written procedures for safe handling and use of chemical compounds.
  • Must follow all label requirements when handling, storing or using chemicals.
  • Must be familiar with safe machine operations where machinery must be cleaned while running and follow lock out procedures.
  • Must wear proper PPE for the different tasks performed.

Quality Assurance Lab Tech

Performs laboratory tests to ensure water control systems and food products meet specifications. Compile, monitor and analyze data for special projects as needed. Prepare analytical reports for internal and external contacts. Responsible for the effective utilization of all Quality Assurance Department resources and for participating on management teams to provide information or direction on special projects. The following is a general list of the essential duties & responsibilities. Other duties may be assigned as needed to assist within the department or in other departments.

Qualifications Preferred

  • The individual should have a Bachelors and/or the equivalent experience in science, with emphasis in food Science, microbiology, chemistry/ or the like.

Quality

  • Collect samples, perform laboratory analyses and prepare reports to regulatory agencies for water treatment, drinking water and storm water systems.
  • Analyze & Troubleshoot flow rates / test results / production sop’s to where data is used to justify improvement strategies.
  • Insure proper operation of Auto-chlorination system.

R&D Technologist

Performs variety of duties relating to Research & Development/ Technical Services/ Quality Assurance. Utilize creativity and innovation to the existing product development process. May participate from time to time on management teams in the company in order to provide knowledge, information or direction as necessary on special projects. Other duties and responsibilities may be assigned as necessary.

Qualifications Preferred

  • Bachelor degree in Food Science & Technology or a related field preferred.
  • At least 2 to 4 years R&D experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably food industry, and especially processed fruit.

Human Resources Administrative Assistant

Provides administrative assistance for Human Resources and Payroll related functions.

  • Provides administrative support with training and development of our community members.

Administrative Assistant/Receptionist

The Receptionist/Administrative Assistant is responsible for receiving customers, visitors and vendors via phone or in person; and providing clerical and administrative support. This position assists the Executive Assistant when needed, and works on special projects for other departments.

Receptionist: Answering phones

  • Answer, screen and distribute all incoming calls to appropriate employees
  • Take messages / distribute messages to employees in a timely manner.
  • Incoming Emergency Calls: Screen calls very carefully. Write down as much information as possible. If the employee doesn’t have an extension, get a hold of the employee’s supervisor. HR can assist in locating personnel if needed.
  • Customer Complaints: Consumer Affairs Ext. 219 handles all customer questions regarding allergens, product problems, and any calls regarding issues with our product.

Quality Service Practitioner

Responsible for ensuring product Food Quality and Food Safety programs are maintained. Acting as primary contact and company representative for customer audits, Regulatory inspections, 2nd Party and 3rd Party audits. Ensures GMP program are adhered and Food Safety measures are executed site wide. Responsible for ensuring resigned programs are properly maintained. Participates on process improvement teams in order to meet quality improvement initiatives and generate cost savings. Other duties and responsibilities in addition to the following may be assigned.

Accountability: Food Safety

  • Responsible for planning labor and monitor efficiency of department.
  • Leads all 3rd Party and 2nd Party Food Safety Audits: BRC, Organic, DFA, FDA, CDPH & others (customer or regulatory).

Accounting Supervisor

Perform Supervisor accounting duties and support the accounting functions of MPC with a focus on Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, Credit, and Balance Sheet Management.

Qualifications

  • Minimum education required: B.S. degree in Finance or Accounting required. Master's degree in Business or Finance/Accounting preferred.
    Years of relevant experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of senior accounting and financial analysis experience in fully integrated system environment.

Skills and Abilities Required

  • Must function independently with minimal task direction and have strong analytical capability

Production Department Lead – Bag Line

Under the direction of the Production Department Supervisor, is responsible for supervising the production operations and sanitation of the production area. Individual will oversee all aspects of the production area making sure product meets quality specifications, proper materials are used, staffing for each line is correct and reporting is done in a timely and accurate manner. Must be able to follow verbal and written instructions in English and communicate effectively to assigned employees. Ensure that Food Safety Measures and GMP’s are adhered to in all operations. Takes the initiative to do whatever else is needed on behalf of the Company’s best interests.

Required Skills/Qualification

Production Area-Bag Line

  • Reviews the next day’s production schedule with the department Supervisor
  • Responsibilities include training, planning, assigning, and directing production lines as directed by the department Supervisor.
  • Ensure that the fruit and materials required for the next day’s production are available.
  • Reviews the scheduling of the crew for each line with the department Supervisor and contacts Human Resources if additions and/or replacements are needed.
  • Completes Production, and labor records making sure they are accurate and timely.
  • Responsible for training and supervising the cleaning (during the run) of production lines.
  • Works with QA to ensure completion and accuracy of worksheets.

Domestic Account Coordinator

The primary function of the Domestic Account Coordinator is to be the key interface with our customer accounts in managing PO receipt, acknowledgement, ship commitment and ongoing progress updating. This role encompasses complete management of customer orders from receipt to final shipment / arrival to the customer. Provide quality service to coordinating customer needs in a timely & efficient manner. Also may be assigned special projects under the direction of the Dept. Manager.

Education and experience:

  • College degree or equivalent experience
  • 1-2 years of experience within customer fulfillment role preferred

Essential Duties, Responsibilities & Functions:

  • Total management of customer orders. This involves receiving, scheduling, shipping and after sales service of customer purchase orders. Requires close contact with sales team and coordination with production and logistics.
  • Responsible for entry of orders into system, provide timely and realistic ship commitment dates to customers, working internally within manufacturing to ensure product is shipped in a timely manner. Act as voice of customer within Mariani.
  • Ensure that pricing of customer purchase orders is in-line with price quotes. Maintenance of customer contracts and ensuring contract fulfillment.
  • May be asked to support debt collection from time to time.
  • Will be responsible to ensure that new customers are fully checked and loaded on computer systems before any business commences along with maintenance of existing customer information.
    Will need to effectively interface with the Operations team to manage manufacturing schedules in line with capacity and supply lead-time challenges, management of customer demand in line with priorities and pressures.
  • Work with sales and logistics team to effectively commit best “can do” ship commitments against new business opportunities or large / short lead-time customer purchase orders.

Under the direction of the maintenance manager or maintenance lead, performs preventative maintenance activities on al process equipment while assisting with facilities maintenance, equipment installation, and overhauling of all plant equipment.

Qualifications

Machine Operator - Mechanic - Bag Line

Supervisor or Manager is responsible for operating one or more production lines in the Bag Line area. Will be responsible to set up for production and ensure the products produced are within Mariani quality standards. Essential duties and responsibilities include the following. Qualifications

  • Maintenance experience required.
  • Certification from a tech school desired.
  • Must be a self-starter motivated and show leadership ability.
  • Must pass Mariani forklift certification.
  • Must be able to think on their feet and must have mechanical aptitude.

  • Must be able to perform simple mathematical calculations.

Operation of a production line

  • Operations
  • Sets up assigned line for operation in allotted time.
  • Starts, stops, sets up, and cleans machinery according to operational requirements.
  • Performs daily line inspection and reports findings to Supervisor and Maintenance.
  • Follows up reports to ensure maintenance tasks are completed.
  • Oversees production run ensuring that specific customer specifications are meet.
        This includes fruit requirement
        Bag coding is properly located and in the proper format.
        Case coding is in the right location and proper format.
        Pallet tag and placard information matches product information.
  • Keeps supervisor informed of any issues with production run.
  • Keeps in contact with Maintenance crew of any repairs needing to be preformed.
  • Will learn to perform daily general maintenance of the bag line and surrounding equipment.
  • Track productivity of line including spillage, through put, yield and any other critical parameters.
  • Properly reports downtime and materials used to Production Control.
  • Report productivity to supervisor on a regular basis.
  • May handle materials weighing up to 60 pounds occasionally.

Cadet
Responsible for working in all operations departments working with the department manager to learn the activities in each area including throughput, yield, product quality, GMP’s and food safety. The Cadet will be responsible to minimize downtime, both scheduled and unscheduled, to a level not to exceed a total of 5% within the department. Ensures that operators and staff receive the information they need to run their assigned line and are responsible for the proper collection and transaction of all data in order to maintain lot integrity and product traceability. Must be able to follow verbal and written instructions in English and communicate same to assigned employees. Supervisor will ensure that Food Safety Measures are adhered to in all operations. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Production

  • Coordinates with the production scheduler about production requirements on a daily basis
  • Schedules personnel required to meet the standard manning of the lines, working with the scheduler to ensure accurate staffing usage and reporting.
  • Uses the proper fruit according to product specifications.
  • Ensures proper reporting of fruit used daily.
  • Determines from the schedule whether to use tubs or fiber boxes to collect the fruit. Ensures that tubs or fiber boxes are available
  • Instructs the operators for the day’s production requirements
  • Ensures that a sufficient number of employees are available to run the lines on a daily basis
  • Ensures that the sorting process is properly completed for defects or contaminants
  • Makes line speed and temperature adjustments based on Quality Control reports to ensure product quality is completed by operators
  • Monitors to ensure that all pallets or bins are tagged, weighed, and delivered to the appropriate destination
  • Ensures that a copy of each pallet or bin tag is accounted for to make accurate computer transactions
  • Supervises department employees to keep them on tasks assigned
  • Cross-trains machine operators and other employees to offer maximum flexibility. Trains department employees on new tasks. Trains a back-up for this position

Maintenance Electrician - Industrial

Under the direction of the maintenance manager or maintenance lead, assumes responsibility for the efficiency and safety of all plant electrical equipment and power distribution. Also assists with facilities maintenance, equipment installation, and overhauling of all process equipment.

3-5 years Industrial Manufacturing experience - Food Manufacturing experience.
2 years Industrial Electrician experience required.
Certification as journeyman electrician or equivalent required.
Experience with 480 power and motors required
Bilingual a plus
Mechanical Maintenance experience a plus

Essential Duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties and responsibilities in addition to the following may be assigned.

Accountability #1: – Production Maintenance

  • Works in an extremely safe manner and protects not only him/her self but also other people and equipment in the facility.
  • Responsible for scheduling and completing preventative maintenance on all electrical equipment, components and facilities power distribution in a timely manner.
  • Troubleshoots manufacturing and facility equipment for electrical malfunctions.
    Maintains proper inventory levels for common electrical components and prepares orders for necessary material and parts.
  • Lays out work from sketches, drawings, etc.  
  • Performs, or directs all maintenance wiring, installation of motors, switches, switch panels, fuse boxes, lighting, testing, programmable logic controllers, and power circuits in compliance with the current national electric code.
  • Determines proper size and specifications of wire, conduit, switches, panels, fuses, etc.
  • Reads and understands blueprints and circuit diagrams.
  • Reads prints, sketches and operating instructions and proceeds with work accordingly.     
    Inspects motors, switches, junction boxes, switch panels, circuit breakers, transformers, fuse panels, lighting, controls, heating and power circuits. Makes a layout of electrical circuits as needed.
  • Performs or directs installation, connection, adjustment, and calibration of electrical gauges and recording instruments.
  • Familiar with installation, set-up and operation of VFD units.
  • Familiar with PLC’s and their functions in a production environment.
  • Installs, adjusts, maintains, repairs, and overhauls process instruments, control instrumentation and related equipment both electronic and pneumatic.
  • Participates in sub-station repairs and maintenance.
  • Provides own appropriate hand tools and meters as required.

Accountability #2: – Other

  • Is on call as necessary, must be available to work weekends and overtime.
  • Must be able to safely operate a fork lift truck and high reach boom
  • Familiar with the operational requirements of a solar facility is valuable.
