Staff Accountant
Perform general accounting duties and support the accounting functions of MPC and MPP.
Accountability 1: Accounting
- Prepare MPC Borrowing Base periodically as needed
- Prepare monthly bank account and cash reconciliations for MPC/MPP and related entries
- Prepare/update debt schedule
- Responsible for MPC Purchase Card Program Administration
- Working with Club Sales Team reconcile and monitor club promotional spending matrix
- Maintain and reconcile Notes Payable schedules, including growers
- Prepare annual property tax returns and maintain related files for MPC
- Maintain Prepaid accounts – tracking, amortization, journal entries
- Accrual entries as assigned (freight, AP, Central Cal, etc.)
- Prepare state and Canadian revenue returns and other gov’t reporting requirements
- Prepare and process MPC/MPP month end journal entries
- Ensure that all established timelines for month-end close and other assigned projects are met for MPC/MPP
- Review monthly MPC/MPP financials
- Assist in preparation and distribution of monthly MPC/MPP financial statements and supporting schedules
- Reconcile MPC/MPP G/L accounts as assigned
- Assist with annual physical inventory and business plan (budget/forecast)
- Assist with various audits (CPA, bank, property tax)
- Prepare and maintain System 2000 documentation
- Prepare and maintain documentation of job procedures
- Process outbound wires/ACH payments for MPC/MPP
- Provide other support as needed within the department
Accountability 2: Communications
- Promptly informs Manager of known or anticipated problems
- Ensures clear and timely communication within department and with other departments to maximize quality and productivity and to minimize down time.
- Acts as a problem solver and team player.
- Must have good written and verbal communication skills.
- Must be experienced with a personal computer, MS Word, MS Excel, MS Outlook; System 2000 a plus.
- Keeps management team abreast of significant issues or developments identified during routine activities and actions being taken to improve the situation.

Manager, Cut Fruit / Main Line
Under the direction of the Vice President of operations, is responsible for overseeing the activities associated to the Cut Fruit department including the main line production, cut fruit production lines, import and domestic raisin receiving and inventory management. Ensures food safety measures are complied with in ever operation. Essential duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Accountability: Cut Fruit / Main Line Operations
- Responsible for oversight of all production lines in the Cut fruit and Main Line Departments including set up and daily operation.
- Ensures that a sufficient number of employees are available to run the lines on a daily basis
- Reports line productivity to supervisor.
- Ensures all lines are running efficiently and reports any maintenance issues to the Maintenance manager.
- Participating in group meetings for each and take the lead on reporting follow up action required by individuals in respective department.
- Ensure that proper departmental communication guidelines are maintained as our environment changes.
- Ensures all pack reports are complete, accurate and turned in a timely manner.
- Oversees the receiving of raw materials, both imported and domestic.
- Ensures all Import paperwork is properly maintained and reported.
- Maintain Weekly Lots by Bin accounting to ensure proper inventory records.
- Presents and documents one “Safety Talk” per week, with signatures of employees in attendance.
- Reports injuries and investigates all accidents and “near-misses”
- Coordinates weekly, or more frequent if needed, maintenance (part replacement, etc.) on all machines
- Oversees the waste disposal including fruit waste, raisin waste and sludge.
- Ensures waste disposal paperwork is reported in a timely manner.
- Ensures labor tracking is properly maintained and reported.
- Ensure production variance is reported on a daily basis.
- Yield and material variances are captured and discussed for improvement on a daily basis.
- Performs Cycle Counts of Raw Materials daily and monthly
- Ensures ALL staff members are trained in SOP’s, Safety, Food Safety, GMP’s and any other Company policies and procedures. This training must be documented and filed with HR.

Machine Operator - Mechanic - Bag Line
Supervisor or Manager is responsible for operating one or more production lines in the Bag Line area. Will be responsible to set up for production and ensure the products produced are within Mariani quality standards. Essential duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Qualifications
- Maintenance experience required.
- Certification from a tech school desired.
- Must be a self-starter motivated and show leadership ability.
- Must pass Mariani forklift certification.
- Must be able to think on their feet and must have mechanical aptitude.
- Must be able to work under a timeline and meet that timeline.
- Must be able to perform simple mathematical calculations.
- Ability to keep focus under stressful situations.
- Must be trained in the nature and properties of sanitation chemicals.
- Must be able to lead a crew and set example for company values.
- Must be able to stand for up to 12 hours a shift
- Must be willing to work any shift
Operation of a production line
- Operations
- Sets up assigned line for operation in allotted time.
- Starts, stops, sets up, and cleans machinery according to operational requirements.
- Performs daily line inspection and reports findings to Supervisor and Maintenance.
- Follows up reports to ensure maintenance tasks are completed.
- Oversees production run ensuring that specific customer specifications are meet.
This includes fruit requirement
Bag coding is properly located and in the proper format.
Case coding is in the right location and proper format.
Pallet tag and placard information matches product information.
- Keeps supervisor informed of any issues with production run.
- Keeps in contact with Maintenance crew of any repairs needing to be preformed.
- Will learn to perform daily general maintenance of the bag line and surrounding equipment.
- Track productivity of line including spillage, through put, yield and any other critical parameters.
- Properly reports downtime and materials used to Production Control.
- Report productivity to supervisor on a regular basis.
- May handle materials weighing up to 60 pounds occasionally.
- Maintains correct product availability to line operations as directed.
- May operate forklift on a limited basis.
- Will not mishandle equipment in any manner.
- Must ensure all line staff is following proper production specifications.
- Must be able to train as needed. This may mean travel to outside training sites.
- Must be willing and able to train other operators on production.
- Will follow ALL GMP’s daily.

Cadet
Responsible for working in all operations departments working with the department manager to learn the activities in each area including throughput, yield, product quality, GMP’s and food safety. The Cadet will be responsible to minimize downtime, both scheduled and unscheduled, to a level not to exceed a total of 5% within the department. Ensures that operators and staff receive the information they need to run their assigned line and are responsible for the proper collection and transaction of all data in order to maintain lot integrity and product traceability. Must be able to follow verbal and written instructions in English and communicate same to assigned employees. Supervisor will ensure that Food Safety Measures are adhered to in all operations. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Production
- Coordinates with the production scheduler about production requirements on a daily basis
- Schedules personnel required to meet the standard manning of the lines, working with the scheduler to ensure accurate staffing usage and reporting.
- Uses the proper fruit according to product specifications.
- Ensures proper reporting of fruit used daily.
- Determines from the schedule whether to use tubs or fiber boxes to collect the fruit. Ensures that tubs or fiber boxes are available
- Instructs the operators for the day’s production requirements
- Ensures that a sufficient number of employees are available to run the lines on a daily basis
- Ensures that the sorting process is properly completed for defects or contaminants
- Makes line speed and temperature adjustments based on Quality Control reports to ensure product quality is completed by operators
- Monitors to ensure that all pallets or bins are tagged, weighed, and delivered to the appropriate destination
- Ensures that a copy of each pallet or bin tag is accounted for to make accurate computer transactions
- Supervises department employees to keep them on tasks assigned
- Cross-trains machine operators and other employees to offer maximum flexibility. Trains department employees on new tasks. Trains a back-up for this position
- Enforces Company policies and documents disciplinary actions
- Continuously monitors the lines for safety, including the proper use of PPE and safe conduct while working
- Presents and documents one “Safety Talk” per week, with signatures of employees in attendance
- Reports injuries and investigates all accidents and “near-misses”
- Consults with operators to perform a DAILY inspection of equipment to ensure proper condition.
- Reports any equipment concerns to maintenance.
- Performs Weekly Lots by Bin Inventory of WIP product. Noting reasons for any variation from physical to system inventory.
- Performs Cycle Count of Raw Materials daily and sanitation inspection daily.
- Ensure production variance is reported on a daily basis
- Completes annual performance appraisals for all direct report staff.
- Implements and oversees the 5S’ management tool.

Maintenance Electrician - Industrial
Under the direction of the maintenance manager or maintenance lead, assumes responsibility for the efficiency and safety of all plant electrical equipment and power distribution. Also assists with facilities maintenance, equipment installation, and overhauling of all process equipment.
3-5 years Industrial Manufacturing experience - Food Manufacturing experience.
2 years Industrial Electrician experience required.
Certification as journeyman electrician or equivalent required.
Experience with 480 power and motors required
Bilingual a plus
Mechanical Maintenance experience a plus
Essential Duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties and responsibilities in addition to the following may be assigned.
Accountability #1: – Production Maintenance
- Works in an extremely safe manner and protects not only him/her self but also other people and equipment in the facility.
- Responsible for scheduling and completing preventative maintenance on all electrical equipment, components and facilities power distribution in a timely manner.
- Troubleshoots manufacturing and facility equipment for electrical malfunctions.
Maintains proper inventory levels for common electrical components and prepares orders for necessary material and parts.
- Lays out work from sketches, drawings, etc.
- Performs, or directs all maintenance wiring, installation of motors, switches, switch panels, fuse boxes, lighting, testing, programmable logic controllers, and power circuits in compliance with the current national electric code.
- Determines proper size and specifications of wire, conduit, switches, panels, fuses, etc.
- Reads and understands blueprints and circuit diagrams.
- Reads prints, sketches and operating instructions and proceeds with work accordingly.
Inspects motors, switches, junction boxes, switch panels, circuit breakers, transformers, fuse panels, lighting, controls, heating and power circuits. Makes a layout of electrical circuits as needed.
- Performs or directs installation, connection, adjustment, and calibration of electrical gauges and recording instruments.
- Familiar with installation, set-up and operation of VFD units.
- Familiar with PLC’s and their functions in a production environment.
- Installs, adjusts, maintains, repairs, and overhauls process instruments, control instrumentation and related equipment both electronic and pneumatic.
- Participates in sub-station repairs and maintenance.
- Provides own appropriate hand tools and meters as required.
Accountability #2: – Other
- Is on call as necessary, must be available to work weekends and overtime.
- Must be able to safely operate a fork lift truck and high reach boom
- Familiar with the operational requirements of a solar facility is valuable.
